Seagulls hang out in the parking lot...
It was a funny Saturday. I don't know if you can see it, but the Sailboat in the Bay is stuck out there. The boat is leaning way over. We felt like this guy was NOT having a good day. Then we drove on and saw this funny sight with all the Seagulls in this parking lot just hanging around on the pavement. They didn't even seem to care if we drove past. They did not fly around but just sat there in a group. Very strange. We drove to the Pier and looked out at the rough and windy, Saturday. We drove around a bit more and looked at some neighborhoods. We are not very impressed with this area. We can't imagine what Gregg did here for 2 months. We are back home now and Dad is going to make Shrimp fettuccine. I will make a salad and another day bites the dusty...
A Day at the Texas State Aquarium
What a fun time we had at the Texas State Aquarium yesterday. I had my picture taken with the diver that feeds the fish in the tank. Then the Otter's were just too cute. I enjoyed watching them in their habitat. They have a very nice area to swim in and they seemed to be having a nice time together. We saw an alligator and a baby alligator that one of the employees held in her hand to show it off. A little boy was petting it and asking all kinds of questions about it which was very cute. The Sea Turtles were very large and the Aquarium employee would brush their backs with a brush because , she said they like to have their backs scratched just like humans do. There were many animals there that I didn't even know the names of but they were very cute and fun to watch. We saw a Dolphin show and a lot of kids got splashed that sat in the front row. Then we walked around and looked at all the displays of beautiful Jellyfish that you would not even think existed. It was a very nice day at the Aquarium. We came back to
the park and we did laundry so we are all set when we leave for Port Aransas on Tuesday. A new place to go with new adventures. Steve wants to go to the Beach today, so that is where we are headed...love to all...............................................................................................................................Lynne

Visiting the downtown Art Museum.
I went to the Museum by myself because your Dad didn't want to pay. So he sat in the car and I toured the beautiful Museum. It is 77 degrees here today with sunshine and very little wind. We also drove through the downtown Marina and saw the Pirate ship in the harbor. Downtown Corpus Christi is very nice, but DEAD. We hardly saw any people there. Very Strange....I got a haircut at Supercuts this a.m. and I am happy with it. Dad said $17.95 was too much money for him, so he will look for a Barber Shop to track down the illusive $8.00 haircut. We will watch the debate tonight as we eat our H.E.B. BBQ Chicken & Texas style Beans..... Dad had a funny conversation with the meat man in the H.E.B. grocery store today. Dad was eyeing a certain kind of fish called a "drum" fish. The meat man said to dad: " Its the best kind of fish ever. Just smoke it and it is the BEST." Dad said: " I have not way of smoking it." The man looked incredulous at Dad and said: " You got'cha a kitchen, don't cha" ??? Good Old Boy talking goes on around here !!! More adventures tomorrow....Mom

A Day at the USS LEXINGTON...
We spent the day at the USS LEXINGTON on the Corpus Christi Bay. It turned out to be a beautiful day, except for the wind. We saw an awesome 1 hr. movie on board about flight training for new pilots and then toured the whole ship. Your father could not get enough. It did take the entire day and I am tired as I write this blog. We decided on crab cakes for dinner. They have a different kind of store here called H.E.B. It has everything from food to clothes. It is kind of like Walmart but more gourmet. I hope to get a haircut tomorrow at super cuts down the street. That should be an adventure........More tomorrow......L.

Shrimp on the Barbie tonight !!!
We had BBQ shrimp with salad tonight as we watched the Presidents speech.
We had a good time in Port Aransas today with lots to see. From a man catching a Sting Ray, to Dolphins jumping out of the Sea and Pelicans watching from the shores. These are the photos that speak for themselves. Stay tuned for more adventures... tomorrow........Mom

Gray days in the Padre's
Here we are in the Padre Islands ! We looked around a bit yesterday afternoon but didn't see very much. There were a lot of dead fish on the shore which I could not figure out the reason for that.
We understand there are a lot of things to see, i.e. museums, sea turtles and much more but it has been overcast since we have been here. Having said that, I am wearing shorts for the first time in months, so that is fun. We understand there could be a big storm coming in the P.M. It doesn't look like we are going to want to stay here. So, I am looking into alternative places. One place might be, Galveston. I
will call around on that today. I hope you are all doing well where you are and hope to hear from you soon....love, L
